If you’ve read my article Yet Another Bring It On Movie?, then there’s a good chance that you probably know that I am getting a bit sick of the Bring It On movie series. Although I think that the first movie was somewhat new and exciting, these movies seem to have lost their flavor over the years. On the other hand, the third Bring It On movie was my favorite. I’m not sure if this is because I’m a big fan of Hayden Panettiere or if it is because the plot was really that good. Personally, I think that it was. Since I liked the third Bring It On movie so much, I decided to watch Bring It On: In It to Win It this weekend when it premiered on ABC Family Channel. Would this movie live up to the third one or would it be just another Bring It On movie? Here, I’ll share some of the things that I thought about Bring It On: In It to Win It.
One of the things that I really hate about the Bring It On movies is that not only are their plots usually all the same, but they’re also often very lame. The plot of Bring It On: In It to Win It was a little bit different in comparison to the other Bring It On movies. The movie is about two cheerleading teams, the East Coast Jets and the West Coast Sharks, the team that the Jets beat the year before. However, this year there will be more rivalry because the man and woman who organize the cheer camp have gone through a divorce and he apparently has a secret weapon that will help his team. Eventually, the Jets and the Sharks need to merge together into one team in order to compete. Overall, I have to say that the plot of Bring It On: In It to Win It is very predictable and easy to follow. There is nothing spectacular about it, but it is a little bit different than the other Bring It On movies, which is in its favor. I give this movie 3.5 out of 5 stars, because although it’s not great, it could be a lot worse (think the second Bring It On movie).
One of the things that bothers me is that there is never anything new about the characters in the Bring It On movies. The head cheerleader from one of the teams is almost always blonde and there is always at least one black cheerleader, cute male cheerleader and a dumb blonde cheerleader. Bring It On: In It to Win It is no exception when it comes to these characters. However, one of the things that I did find interesting about this Bring It On movie is that they try to more or less break the stereotypes in this movie. I don’t want to release any spoilers, but you’ll know what I mean if you choose to see Bring It On: In It to Win It. In comparison to the first and third Bring It On movies, there wasn’t anyone all that popular in this movie, with the exception of Ashley Tisdale’s sister, Jennifer Tisdale, who played a more minor roll as Chelsea, the “dumb blonde” cheerleader. As far as characters go, I give this movie a 3.5 of out of 5 stars because although the characters aren’t a whole lot different than in the other movies, I thought that they did add an interesting twist.
If you are planning to watch this movie due to the actual cheerleading, then there’s a good chance that you will actually enjoy it. In comparison to the other Bring It On movies, I really have to say that Bring It On: In It to Win It has the best cheerleading. In this movie, they do some pretty neat things that I have never seen done in a movie before. The music is also actually pretty good. As far as the cheerleading in this movie goes, I have to give Bring It On: In It to Win It4 out of 5stars.
Overall, this movie was decent. I give it 3.5 out of 5 stars. If you like the other Bring It On movies, then I highly recommend that you see In It to Win It as well. It is a lot like the other movies, though I must say that I liked some of the new and interesting twists which were added to this movie. If the producers of this movie decided to go any further along in the Bring It On movie series, it would be nice to see plots that are more unique, like this one.
